First Impressions
The DV8 Diva Divine comes in a striking Pink and Black hybrid color blend. At the heart of this model beats the proven symmetric Diva Core, which carries a 2.516 RG and a strong 0.052 differential. The outer layer is the Class 7G Hybrid Reactive coverstock, lightly scuffed out of the box with a 500 and 4000 Siaair finish. This combination of a rev-friendly core, high flare potential and a moderately rough hybrid cover should get the ball through the fronts safely while generating a steady but tremendously powerful motion in the midlane.
Comparison
Compared to the original DV8 Diva with its pearl cover, the Diva Divine offers a noticeably shorter skid phase and a far steadier, arcing reaction at the breakpoint. Against the Storm Hy-Road, the Diva core delivers a somewhat stronger change of direction. Once the transition sets in and the lane builds uneven friction, the Diva Divine benefits enormously from its hybrid dynamics. It doesn't tend to jump off dry spots uncontrollably, but instead smooths out the differences and drives extremely hard into the pins.
On the Lanes
The DV8 Diva Divine is best suited to lane conditions with medium oil volume. For strokers and tweeners it offers the ability to play the boards flexibly, since the surface minimizes unexpected reactions and finds strong hold. The steady drive toward the pocket should deliver reliable carry, especially when absolute control is required. Once the lane gets extremely wet, however, the hybrid cover may not provide enough traction and the ball can come in a bit flat.
