First Impressions
The DV8 Thug Unruly stands out with an extremely dark Blue, Black and Red Solid look. Inside works the massive asymmetric Thug Low RG core, which features a 2.505 RG, a strong 0.052 differential and a 0.015 intermediate differential. For the cover, DV8 relies on the Class 13G Solid Reactive coverstock, which comes extremely dull out of the box (500 and 2000 Siaair). These specs should make the ball rev up extremely early and dig safely through the heads in oil. The cover and the core provide the most massive traction on heavy volumes.
Comparison
In a direct comparison with the DV8 Thug Life, the Unruly version shows a drastically shorter ball motion, delivers an extreme amount of traction in oil and a much rounder reaction at the breakpoint. Against the Storm Alpha Crux, the Thug Unruly offers a comparably massive, flaring hook thanks to its strong asymmetric design. Once the transition changes the lane and dry spots appear, the rough surface burns up its energy immediately and loses the dynamics. It is a true oil monster.
On the Lanes
The DV8 Thug Unruly is most at home on extremely heavy lane conditions. It is an outstanding option if you are looking for a massive, gripping ball motion when the lanes are freshly oiled. The asymmetric core creates a huge angle in the oil, which builds confidence when playing direct lines. The ball should secure carry through the brutal entry into the pocket. On dried-up patterns, however, it does not skid and burns up right away.
