First Impressions
The DV8 Hooligan comes in an extremely bright yellow and red solid/pearl hybrid color mix. At the heart of this model beats the symmetrical Hooligan Core, which features a high 2.522 RG and a solid 0.043 differential. The outer layer consists of the Class 5F Solid Reactive coverstock, polished to a high gloss out of the box with 500 Siaair and Royal Compound. This combination of a late-revving motor and the smooth surface should let the ball glide very safely through the heads and produce a steady, round arc.
Comparison
Compared to the DV8 Hooligan Taunt, which has a pearl cover, the original Hooligan picks up noticeably earlier thanks to its solid content and offers a steadier, smoother skid phase. Against the Storm Hy-Road, the Hooligan creates a more controlled and tamer motion. Once the transition sets in and the front part of the lane dries up, the Hooligan is enormously strong. It calls for moderate lines in order to play its steady dynamics into the pins without overreacting sharply.
On the Lanes
The DV8 Hooligan finds its preferred territory on medium lane conditions. It's the perfect choice if you need a reliable benchmark reaction. The ball skids easily through the heads and generates a steady, controllable hook toward the pocket. The balanced reaction helps hold your line. The ball should secure carry through continuous drive. On extremely heavy, fresh oil, however, this ball is often too weak.
