The Columbia 300 Blur Hybrid comes in a fascinating purple and blue hybrid color blend. At the center of this model beats the proven symmetrical Blur Core, which features a high 2.560 RG and a moderate 0.031 differential. The outer layer consists of the Hybrid Reactive coverstock, brought to a high shine out of the box with a 4000 grit polished finish. This combination of a late-revving core, low flare potential and a hybrid cover should ensure that the ball gets down the lane safely and generates steady motion through the midlane.

Comparison
Compared to the original Blur Pearl version, the Blur Hybrid offers a noticeably shorter skid phase and a far steadier, more arcing reaction at the breakpoint. Against the Storm Match Hybrid, the Blur core delivers a somewhat stronger change of direction thanks to the higher RG. Once the transition sets in and the lane builds up uneven friction, the Blur Hybrid benefits enormously from its dynamics. It doesn't tend to jump off dry spots uncontrollably, but instead smooths out the differences.

On the Lanes
The Columbia 300 Blur Hybrid is ideally suited to lane conditions with light to medium oil volume. For strokers and tweeners it offers the option of playing the boards flexibly, since the surface minimizes unexpected reactions and finds steady hold. The steady drive toward the pocket should provide reliable carry, especially when absolute control is required. As soon as the lane gets extremely wet, however, the hybrid cover may not provide enough traction.
