First Impressions
The Ebonite Game Breaker 2 turns heads with its classic black and purple solid design. At its center works the proven symmetrical Enhanced V2 Core, which comes with a 2.480 RG and a moderate 0.048 differential. This core is wrapped in the GB 11.2 Solid Reactive coverstock, finished with a dull 500 and 2000 Abralon surface. The low RG lets the core rotate in a defined manner, which in combination with the tacky cover should make the ball travel very securely through the heads and produce a very benchmark-style motion.
Comparison
Compared directly with strong pearl balls, the Game Breaker 2 grabs extremely early and offers a considerably more agile, rounder reaction at the breakpoint. Against the Storm IQ Tour Solid, the GB2 behaves similarly on oiled lanes and provides a steady hook. As soon as the transition sets in and the front part of the lane dries up, this ball is extremely controllable. It calls for medium boards at the breakpoint in order to unload its smooth front-end dynamics massively into the pins.
On the Lanes
The Ebonite Game Breaker 2 is most at home on medium to heavy lane conditions. It's an excellent option if you need a ball on broken-down patterns that won't skid through the heads and that generates a steady, strong hook toward the pocket. The smooth reaction helps in attacking the breakpoint from shallow angles. The ball should secure carry when the angles are good. On extremely dry boards, however, it slides off its line.
