First Impressions
The Storm Ride comes in a classy Scarlet and Platinum hybrid color blend. At the heart of this model beats the symmetrical Cruiser Core, which features a high RG of 2.580 and a very low differential of 0.021. The outer layer is made of the Reactor Hybrid Reactive coverstock, brought to a high shine at the factory with a 1500 grit polish. This combination of an extremely late-revving engine and the smooth surface should let the ball glide very safely through the heads and build little traction.

Comparison
Compared to the Storm Joy Ride, which has a pure pearl cover, the Ride grabs minimally earlier thanks to its hybrid content and offers a steadier, less jumpy reaction at the breakpoint. Against the Storm Phaze II, the Ride produces a massively weaker and rounder motion. As soon as the transition sets in and the front part of the lane dries up, the Ride is in its element. It wants dry boards in order to carry its gentle dynamics into the pins.

On the Lanes
The Storm Ride's preferred territory is lighter lane conditions. It is the perfect choice if you need a ball on completely burned-up patterns that slides easily through the heads and creates a steady, controllable hook toward the pocket. The weak reaction helps hold the line. The ball should keep your carry secure at high speed. On fresh oil, however, this ball is often too weak.
