First Impressions
The Brunswick Vintage Danger Zone brings a true legend back and shows up in a classic black solid design. Inside works the Vintage Light Bulb Low RG core, which carries a 2.538 RG and a 0.043 differential. The cover is the modified PK 2016 Solid Reactive Cover, brought to a light shine out of the box with a 500 Siaair pad and Royal Compound finish. Thanks to the medium RG and the moderate differential, the ball skids under control through the front part of the lane. These specs should give the ball an incredibly smooth, arcing benchmark motion.
Comparison
Compared to modern heavy-oil balls like the Brunswick Absolute Nirvana, the Danger Zone shows dramatically more length and a far calmer overall reaction in oil. Against a ball like the Storm IQ Tour Solid, the Danger Zone offers a slightly later hook due to its light compound finish. When the transition changes the lane and friction increases, the balanced cover of the Danger Zone keeps the ball from releasing its energy too early. It can be used as a benchmark ball for an extremely long time.
On the Lanes
The Brunswick Vintage Danger Zone is most at home on medium lane conditions. It's an excellent option if you're looking for a reliable, classic ball motion. The symmetrical core creates an absolutely predictable move at the breakpoint, which builds confidence when playing direct or slightly open lines. The ball should secure carry through a consistent entry into the pocket. On fresh, heavy oil, however, it may skid a bit too far through the front.
