First Impressions
The AMF Ninja SE comes in a classic purple solid design. At its center works the Shredder Symmetric core, which supports a predictable and even roll phase. This core is wrapped in the F70 Solid Reactive coverstock, finished at the factory with a 4000 grit NEAT surface. The moderate roughness combined with the symmetric core should allow the ball to glide very well through the heads while retaining a high degree of control. The design focuses on a clean motion with a rounded but definite reaction at the breakpoint.
Comparison Compared to extremely aggressive balls like the AMF Great Escape, the Ninja SE delivers noticeably more length down the boards and reacts far more predictably and smoothly at the end of the oil pattern. Set against a symmetric benchmark ball like the Storm Phaze II, the Ninja SE creates a very similar, rounded hook. Once the transition sets in and the front part of the lane dries up, the Ninja SE benefits from its versatile cover, since it carries energy more efficiently to the pocket than all-out heavy-oil balls.
On the Lanes The AMF Ninja SE finds its preferred territory on medium lane conditions. It is the logical choice if you want to play a controlled line through the heads on fresh to slightly played-in patterns. The steady, pronounced hook helps in playing consistent angles and generating enough power for optimal carry. On heavily oiled lanes or extremely long patterns, however, the Ninja SE may lack that last bit of traction to find its way back into the pins reliably.
