BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The AMF Ninja SE Pearl, released in the summer of 2017, is a modern homage to the legendary Ninja series of the 900 era. Visually, the ball comes in a striking "Purple Pearl" that catches the eye immediately out on the lane. Technically, it is driven by the symmetric Shredder core. This core is a genuine powerhouse: with a very low 2.48 RG and a high 0.054 differential (at 15 pounds), it offers numbers you would otherwise more often find in high-performance balls. This rev-hungry core is wrapped in the F70 Pearl reactive coverstock. Out of the box, the ball comes with a 1500-grit polished finish, creating a smooth, glossy outer shell designed for effortless skid through the heads.
Comparison Compared directly to the original AMF Ninja SE (Solid), which was released shortly before it, the pearl version works as a perfect complement. While the solid Ninja reads earlier and describes a rounder shape down the lane, the Ninja SE Pearl offers noticeably more length and stores its rotational energy longer for the backend. Bringing in a competitor from the same period, such as the Storm Hy-Road Pearl, the Ninja SE Pearl shows more aggressive flare potential thanks to its significantly higher differential (0.054 vs. 0.046) and lower RG. That makes it feel "quicker" in rotation and it often produces a stronger change of direction than typical medium-performance pearls, while still remaining more controllable than extremely angular asymmetrics.
On the Lanes The ideal territory for the Ninja SE Pearl is medium oil conditions and the transition phase, when the lane starts to break down. Thanks to the polished F70 cover, it ignores the dry heads that develop over the course of a set and uses the available friction at the breakpoint for a powerful hit. It is especially effective if you like to "open up" the lane (playing deeper angles) without having to worry about the ball losing energy. Because of the very low RG (2.48), the core still gets into rotation in time, which helps the ball stay stable even with a bit more oil through the midlane instead of skidding through uncontrolled. It is often the first choice when the strong solid ball starts to hook too early or runs "dead" into the pocket.
