BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The 900 Global Inception DCT Pearl was released in January 2018 and represents the refined pearl version of the Inception series. Visually, the ball stands out with a striking color blend of green, purple and cream. Inside works the technologically advanced Adaptor/D Ceramic core, an asymmetric powerhouse with an integrated ceramic nugget. This core features a low RG of 2.48, a high differential of 0.055 and an intermediate differential of 0.024 (at 15 pounds). All of it is wrapped in the S86R Pearl coverstock, which at the time of release was considered the strongest pearl cover in the 900 Global lineup. The ball ships with a 1500 grit polished finish, which allows for a clean skid phase through the heads while the asymmetric core provides enormous rotational energy.
Comparison Compared directly to the original Inception DCT (solid), the Inception DCT Pearl offers noticeably more length and a considerably sharper change of direction at the breakpoint. While the solid version reads the oil early and describes a controlled arc, the pearl version is designed to store energy for the backend. Compared to the Storm Phaze II, the Inception DCT Pearl shows a more aggressive angle into the pocket thanks to its asymmetric ceramic core, while the Phaze II displays a rounder, more continuous roll. Next to the 900 Global Honey Badger, the Inception DCT Pearl offers noticeably more traction in the midlane and can therefore also be used on higher oil volumes, where the Honey Badger often skids too long. Compared to the older Inception Pearl, the newer S86R cover of the DCT Pearl provides a more stable reaction once the lane starts to get squirrely.
On the Lanes The 900 Global Inception DCT Pearl is designed primarily for medium to heavy oil conditions and shines especially once the lane transition sets in. Thanks to its strong pearl shell, it can be positioned deeper in the oil than conventional pearl balls, since it has enough traction not to slide through uncontrolled. It is the ideal choice if you like to send the ball through the middle of the lane and want to see an explosive reaction into the pocket at the breakpoint. Tournament players in particular benefit from the versatility of the Adaptor/D Ceramic core, which delivers excellent carry even when you are forced to play extremely steep angles. On a typical house shot (THS), the ball allows aggressive inside-out play, and it often forgives small release errors thanks to its strong recovery at the end of the lane. However, as soon as the lanes get extremely dry, the combination of strong cover and asymmetric core could lead to an overreaction.
