BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
Released in September 2018, the Ebonite Game Breaker 3 Pearl continues the success story of one of the most legendary ball lines. At its center works the iconic Enhanced V2 core, which with a low 2.48 RG and a high 0.048 differential (at 15 lbs) delivers a very early revving action and strong flare potential. This symmetric "machine" is wrapped in the GB 12.7 Pearl Reactive coverstock. The factory finish, consisting of a 500/1000 Abralon sand followed by Powerhouse Factory Finish polish, gives the ball in Purple/White Pearl a glossy look. This combination is unique: while the polish and the pearl chemistry provide easy length through the heads, the low-RG V2 core guarantees that the ball still reads the midlane strongly and doesn't skid uncontrollably.
Comparison
Compared directly to the Ebonite Game Breaker 3 (Solid), the pearl version offers noticeably more length and a sharper response to friction. While the solid digs into the oil and shows a rounder motion, the pearl saves its energy for the backend. Bringing in an outside competitor, the GB3 Pearl differs significantly from the Storm Hy-Road. Although both are polished symmetric balls, the much lower RG of the GB3 Pearl (2.48 vs. 2.57 on the Hy-Road) makes it start up earlier and come across as more controlled. It's not an extreme "skid/flip" ball that only turns in the last few feet, but instead offers a predictable, arcing motion that is forgiving and minimizes overreaction on dry boards.
On the Lanes
The Game Breaker 3 Pearl is the ideal "benchmark pearl" for medium oil patterns and typical house shots. It shows its strengths once the lane goes through transition and rough solid balls start burning up energy too early and carry suffers. It lets you move further inside and open up the pocket without losing control of the breakpoint. Thanks to the legendary V2 core, it eliminates the dreaded "over/under" behavior of many other pearl balls by smoothing out the transition from oil to dry. It's especially valuable if you're a tournament player who needs a ball that generates length but still rolls stably enough to carry the corner pins even on slightly off hits.
