BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The 900 Global Money Badger comes in an attractive emerald green design and is part of the Tour Preferred 700 series. The ball is built around the Inverted Grapnel Asymmetric core, which shows a 2.57 RG, a 0.044 differential and a 0.008 mass bias differential. The S71 Pearl Reactive coverstock comes out of the box at a 1500-grit polished finish. The asymmetric core system allows for a flare potential of 4-5 inches and more. The ball was released on September 24, 2019, and with its medium to high flare potential it offers versatile applications.
Comparison
The Money Badger uses the same Inverted Grapnel core as the original 900 Global Honey Badger, but shows a stronger backend reaction. Despite the similarities, the Money Badger has more skid and less overall hook than the Honey Badger. Inverting the core keeps RG and intermediate differential the same, while the total differential rises slightly from 0.041 to 0.044 inches. Compared to the Honey Badger, the Money Badger had less skid and less overall hook, which is why it had to be used on shorter and drier patterns. Compared to the Money Badger Tour, it offers less overall traction and less control at the breakpoint. The Money Badger is meant to rival the original Honey Badger in terms of backend reaction and to provide one of the strongest backend motions in the asymmetric 900 Global lineup.
On the Lanes
The Money Badger is designed for medium lane conditions. The S71 Pearl surface should deliver the backend motion many bowlers are looking for. In testing, all player types had no trouble getting the ball through the front part of the lane and could reach the pocket with similar breakpoints around board seven. The polished S71 Pearl Reactive coverstock promises a "breakneck" change of direction off the backend on medium lane conditions. The inverted Grapnel core should provide overall motion similar to the original Honey Badger, but with a stronger backend. Based on its characteristics, the ball is especially suited if you're looking for controlled length with an explosive backend reaction on medium oil volumes. The polished surface makes it an ideal choice when a strong change of direction at the breakpoint is called for.
