BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The Motiv Forge Fire comes in a striking dark red and yellow design and uses the symmetrical Detonator core with a 2.47 RG and a 0.055 differential. The cover is the Infusion Hybrid Reactive coverstock with a 4000 grit LSS finish. The Infusion cover was already used on the RipCord, where it produced more angularity than any other ball Motiv had built up to that point. This combination of low RG and high differential is said to have been developed for medium to heavy oil conditions.
Comparison
Side by side, the Forge Fire is reminiscent of the United Revolt - a heavy rolling ball with aggressive axis rotation. Compared to the original Motiv Forge, the Fire shows similar overall strength, but with distinctly more angular ball motion, while the Forge has a smoother, rounder move. The Forge Fire runs slightly earlier than the Motiv RipCord, which makes the two a good pairing. Compared with the Motiv Forge, the Fire responds more quickly to friction and offers more push through the heads. It runs cleaner than the original Forge and thus makes an ideal step-down option.
On the Lanes
If you are speed-dominant, you can create angle with the Forge Fire as soon as friction develops, since the larger core lets you shape the ball much like other players do with high-RG cores. If you are rev-dominant, you'll reach the angularity you want earlier in the block or in heavier oil concentrations thanks to the extra traction from the high flare and the control of the low RG. Balanced players can use the Forge Fire to good effect on medium to heavy oil patterns when they need angle but don't want to move to a true skid/flip ball. The heavy roll provides control on more demanding lanes, while the ball creates angle in medium to heavy oil for a variety of player types. On typical house shots it allows you to play further left than you normally could with other balls on fresh lanes.
