First Impressions
The Storm Bite SE presents itself as a fascinating fusion of two proven Storm technologies. The TractionX7 surface was originally developed for the Parallax and is said to combine the best properties of seven popular Storm coverstocks: Reactor, R2S, TX-16, NRG, SPEC, GI-20 and NeX. At the center works the legendary G2 core, already known from the Bite series for its strong hook characteristics. The specs list a 2.470 RG and a 0.058 differential for the 16-pound ball. The TractionX7 system is said to stand out through exceptional texture, porosity and mobility. The combination of the asymmetric G2 core and the hybrid TractionX7 cover promises an aggressive but controlled ball reaction.
Comparison
Compared to other premium balls from Storm, the Bite SE sits between established models. The TractionX7 surface brings the durability of the TX-16, the backend performance of the R2S and the slower oil absorption of the SPEC. Against the Storm Parallax, which also uses TractionX7 but works with the Aeroflo core, the Bite SE should be more aggressive thanks to the G2 core. The Parallax with its Aeroflo core shows a 2.52 RG and a 0.054 differential in 15-pound balls, while the Bite SE with the G2 core has considerably lower RG numbers. This setup should give the Bite SE an earlier and stronger hook than the longer-running Parallax. Compared to other Bite variants such as the Storm Bite Frost, which uses a solid version of TractionX7, the hybrid cover of the SE should offer more length through the heads.

The Storm Bite SE is aimed primarily at advanced players with a power game who have to handle medium to heavy oil conditions. The TractionX7 hybrid cover should deliver dynamic ball reaction, durability and reliability. The low RG of the G2 core favors an early rev-up, while the hybrid cover allows enough length through the heads. This combination makes the ball ideal for medium to high oil volumes, where other balls would react too early or too late. Crankers and power players should benefit especially from the strong backend reaction, while the TractionX7 technology also promises consistent performance over longer sessions.
