First Impressions
The 900 Global Reality presents itself as an extremely powerful ball with a new core-cover combination of the S84 Response Solid Reactive and the Disturbance Asymmetric Core. With a low 2.49 RG, a high 0.052 differential and an intermediate differential of 0.018, the core shows optimal asymmetric characteristics. The S84 Response Solid coverstock with a 2000 grit Abralon finish provides improved traction on heavy conditions thanks to pores up to 20% larger. The design pairs a cubic Disturbance core with a matte gray look that immediately underscores the professionalism of the 900 Global Tour series.
Comparison
As the strongest ball, the Reality feels comparable to the Storm Proton Physix, the Storm UFO or the original Volatility. Although it is very similar to the Proton Physix, the Reality offers slightly less overall hook while rolling a bit more forward at the same time. Compared to the Aspect, the Reality shows considerably more total hook, a stronger change of direction and more backend motion. The matte 2000 Abralon surface creates a clear separation from the Volatility Torque in overall ball motion. Against other strong asymmetric balls, the Reality should impress with its continuous energy release without showing the typical traits of a sluggish "big ball."
On the Lanes
This combination of S84 Response Solid cover and Disturbance Asymmetric Core should produce a high-quality heavy oil ball motion and is an excellent release for heavy oil conditions. If you're a mid to low rev player, this ball works especially well as your first choice on heavy oil patterns. With its enormous midlane hook and its backend continuation, it creates a look that sets itself apart from other balls in the arsenal, hooking continuously through the backend without slowing down. The predictable, big motion definitely needs oil. If you throw the ball fast or have a lower rev rate and need help getting around the corner, the Reality is absolutely worth considering. Perfectly suited for heavy oil, Greater Ozarks team events or Open Championships.
