First Impressions
The Track Legion Pearl uses DynamiCore technology, an innovative outer core technology from Brunswick Bowling Products that provides less compression on impact and thus delivers increased hitting power and better carry. The asymmetric pearl cover in Purple/Silver looks appealing and brings back the proven LT-2 asymmetric core, which features a 2.500" RG with a 0.046" differential and a 0.011" intermediate differential. The Prime Response Pearl reactive coverstock comes out of the box at 500/1000/1500 Siaair polished with Crown Factory Compound and is designed for medium to heavy oil conditions.
Comparison
Compared to other Track balls, the Legion Pearl shows a higher RG than the Track Strata but lower numbers than the Track Proof, while its differential is lower than on both of those balls. In practical testing it started only a few boards right compared to the Track Strata Hybrid, but used similar targets at the arrows and similar breakpoints. Balls with similar hook potential and ball motion include the Roto Grip Optimum Idol Pearl. The Legion Pearl should offer excellent midlane reading and response, which sets it apart from other pearl asymmetrics.
On the Lanes
The shiny pearl surface clears the heads effortlessly and makes a strong move on friction, passing through the front part of the lane easily and showing a very strong turn on the backend. The Legion Pearl does an outstanding job with continuation through the pin deck, even when the heads start to dry up. The medium-RG LT-2 core produces strong revs over the length of the lane, conserves ball energy for the breakpoint, and provides a powerful entry angle into the pocket. Ideal if you're looking for a ball for medium to heavy oil conditions that combines both length and backend reaction. The upper-mid performance rating makes it a versatile option for various styles and lane conditions.
