First Impressions
The Radical Informer comes in dark blue and establishes itself as the newest high-end agent for Radical Bowling Technologies. The ball features a modified version of the popular Incognito core with a 2.477 RG, a 0.051 differential and a 0.019 intermediate differential. The reactive solid coverstock uses the S.H.A.R.P. formulation from the Incognito, but with the addition of the TS-1 additive. The Informer comes out of the box with a 500/1000/1500 SiaAir surface and, like all of Radical's top-shelf balls, incorporates the hard DynamiCore technology.
Comparison
Compared to the Incognito, the Informer reads earlier and is slightly smoother, with less total hook than the Maximum Results. Its positioning as a ball between the Maximum Results and the Incognito Solid should deliver a stronger backend motion. The modification to the Incognito core reduces RG and total differential, while the intermediate differential is raised slightly. Compared to a Storm Phaze II, which stands out for power and predictability with controllable ball motion, the Informer leans more on down-lane performance through the TS1 additive. Users describe it as an "Incognito on steroids."
On the Lanes
The Informer is designed as a high-performance ball for heavy lane conditions with enormous hook potential. Strokers benefit especially on fresh high-volume patterns, since the shape of the reaction supports a straighter line up the lane and offers good miss room. If you have average rev rate and average speed, you'll find the ball suited to medium-heavy to heavy lane conditions. The ball proves to be a necessary piece for sport patterns and for playing inside on heavier house shot blends. The stronger backend reaction on heavier conditions and the ability to fight through heavy oil make it a strong reaction for many bowlers. Its predictability regardless of the layout chosen and its sufficient traction in the back end or in heavier oil underline its versatility.
