The Storm IQ Tour Nano Purple presents itself with a striking purple hue as the aggressive variant of the popular IQ Tour series. The ball uses the proven Centripetal C3 Core with a low 2.48 RG and a low 0.029 differential, which creates a more controlled reaction with less length. The NRG Solid Reactive Nano coverstock is considered one of the strongest covers ever developed and has already been used in successful balls like the Virtual Gravity Nano and Virtual Gravity Nano Pearl. Finished at the factory with 4000-grit Abralon, the ball should glide cleanly through the heads and grab at the right moment.
Comparison
Compared to the Storm Crux, the IQ Tour Nano shows a noticeably smoother motion, while the Crux reacts stronger and more angular. Against the Roto Grip Sinister, the IQ Tour Nano generates about 3 boards more hook with a smoother motion characteristic at the same time. In a direct comparison to the Storm Zero Gravity, the IQ Tour Nano proves to be stronger and more aggressive, while the Zero Gravity reacts more smoothly at the breakpoint. Functioning as the perfect step down from the Marvel S, it offers a similar lane read with less flare. It represents a symmetrical complement to the asymmetrical Storm Crux.
On the Lanes
The IQ Tour Nano is the ball you pull out of the arsenal when you need strong motion on lanes with very high oil volume. If you have a higher rev rate and lower axis tilt, it works especially well for heavy to medium-heavy oil conditions. The lower the rev rate, the more versatile this ball becomes. It's ideally suited for shorter, oily patterns as well as longer, less oily patterns where you want to keep the angles in front of you. The Nano technology makes it a more versatile version of the original Virtual Gravity Nano, usable on more than just heavily broken-down heavy oil conditions. With the low differential it allows a potent motion off the backend, while the NRG cover ensures that the ball stands up properly beyond the midlane.
