The 900 Global Zen Spirit, released in February 2022 as an exclusive international ("Overseas") release, is essentially the twin brother of the globally celebrated original Zen. Visually it differs only slightly from its famous predecessor, with its color scheme in Magenta, Deep Purple and Silver. Under the hood sits exactly the same winning combination: the massive Meditate Symmetric Core with a 2.49 RG and a 0.051 differential (at 15 lbs) provides the engine. This huge core is wrapped in the proven S77 Response Pearl Reactive coverstock, brought to a high shine with a 1500-grit polished finish out of the box. These specs promise the identical, popular ball reaction that made the Zen series a market leader.
Comparison Since the Zen Spirit is technically identical to the original 900 Global Zen, it behaves almost the same on the lane. It offers that unique combination of effortless length through the heads (skid) and an extremely stable yet still aggressive move in the backend. Compared to the 900 Global Zen Master (solid), the Spirit is considerably cleaner through the heads and stores more energy for the hit, while the Master reads earlier and smooths out the lane. Next to a Storm Phaze 4, the Zen Spirit often feels a bit more controllable, since the massive Meditate core stabilizes the rotation a little earlier without losing the snap. It's basically a cheat code for house shots, just like the original.
