BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The Radical Sneak Attack, announced and released in late spring 2022, fills a crucial gap in Radical's lineup: the performance class for drier conditions. Visually, the ball comes in a plain but elegant "Black/Silver" design. Technically, it marks the debut of the new Sneak Attack Symmetric Core. At 15 lbs, this core shows a relatively high RG of 2.544 and a moderate differential of 0.036. Those numbers point immediately to plenty of length and a controlled motion. The real highlight, however, is the newly developed MTH-1 (Micro Textural Hybrid) coverstock. This cover differs from conventional hybrid materials through a special molecular structure aimed at smoothing out the reaction without giving up backend motion. Out of the box, the ball comes with a 500/1000/2000 Siaair finish, subsequently taken to a high gloss with Crown Factory Polish.
Comparison
The Sneak Attack was conceived as the direct successor to the legendary Rack Attack series. Compared to the Radical Rack Attack Solid, the Sneak Attack offers noticeably more length and a snappier backend reaction thanks to the new MTH-1 cover and the polish, while retaining the controllability of the old Rack Attack. Set against the Roto Grip Hustle Wine (Pearl), the Sneak Attack feels a bit "thicker" in its roll. It doesn't skid through the oil quite as aggressively as the Hustle, instead reading the lane minimally earlier thanks to the micro texture, which makes it less prone to over/under reactions. Compared to the Radical Bonus, the Sneak Attack is considerably weaker and cleaner through the heads. It is the perfect step-down when the Bonus or a Storm Hy-Road hooks too much.
On the Lanes
The Radical Sneak Attack is an absolute weapon for light to medium oil and is particularly effective on lanes that have already broken down significantly (transition). It shines when the heads are dry and stronger balls lose energy too early. Thanks to the high RG value, it glides effortlessly over the front boards. The hybrid cover ensures it doesn't snap off the breakpoint uncontrollably, but instead describes a smooth yet still strong arc to the pocket. It's ideal if you have a high rev rate and want to keep control on drier house league patterns, or for tournament players as a burner ball for the last games of a block. The micro texture also helps handle carrydown better than purely polished balls.
