BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The Ebonite Mission Complete, released in May 2022, is an exclusive international release (overseas) that revives one of the most legendary ball series of recent history. Visually, the ball shows up in a striking "Black/Pink/Purple" blend that looks matte and grabby thanks to the rough factory finish (usually 500/1000/2000 Siaair). The highlight is the return of the original Mission 1.0 core. This asymmetric core is famous for its unique shape and delivers a low 2.48 RG at 15 lbs along with a solid 0.050 differential and a 0.013 intermediate diff. This core classic is wrapped in the modern GB 14.0 Solid Reactive coverstock. The combination aims to unite the proven, heavy roll of the old Mission balls with the chemical strength of modern covers.
Comparison
The Ebonite Mission Complete is best compared to its spiritual ancestor, the original Ebonite Mission (2009). While the roll feel — that typical, heavy "chug" through the midlane — is very similar, the GB 14.0 Solid cover gives the "Complete" considerably more overall hook on today's oily lanes than the original had. Compared to the Ebonite Envision (the contemporary high-performance ball), the Mission Complete looks rounder and smoother. The Envision reacts a bit more angular at the breakpoint, while the Mission Complete tends to "roll over" the lane and describes an extremely controllable arc. Next to a Hammer Black Widow 2.0 (also an asymmetric solid), the Mission revs up earlier and is less explosive off the backend, but offers more stability in oil.
On the Lanes
The Mission Complete is a monster on heavy oil and fresh sport patterns. Its greatest strength is midlane control. The low RG value and the strong solid cover get it rotating early and keep the ball from sliding out on the oil. This is not a ball for crossing the entire lane from deep left ("boomerang"); it's a tool for controlling the pocket and using the oil wedge. It smooths out over/under reactions excellently. Once the lane dries up, however, it loses effectiveness quickly, since it burns up its energy too early. It's the ideal first ball out of the bag for tournament players looking for a safe read.
