BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The 900 Global Wolverine Dark Moss takes over from the original Wolverine and shows up in a muted color scheme that visually recalls dark moss. Inside the ball works the symmetrical Lacerate 2.0 core. With a 2.54 RG and a 0.053 differential (at 15 lbs), this core combines the properties of the Honey Badger (top half) and the Badger (bottom half) to produce quick rotation and plenty of flare. The cover is the S70 Pearl Reactive coverstock, a proven blend known for its cleanliness through the heads. One key feature is the surface finish: the ball ships with the 4K-Fast treatment. That means it isn't polished to a high gloss but carries a fine sanded surface, which helps it skid through the heads under more control without giving up the aggressive backend reaction the series is known for.
Comparison
Compared directly to the popular 900 Global Zen, often considered the benchmark for symmetrical pearl balls, the Wolverine Dark Moss goes noticeably longer and moves more angular. Where the Zen starts reading in the midlane thanks to its strong core and describes a rounder arc, the Wolverine Dark Moss stores its energy longer and responds more sharply to friction at the breakpoint. In character it resembles the original Wolverine, but the 4K-Fast finish gives it a bit more traction in oil than the polished original version. Compared to a Storm Hy-Road, the Wolverine Dark Moss is stronger in overall hook and can handle more angle, since the higher differential creates more flare. It therefore positions itself as the more aggressive option for the backend game, for when a Hy-Road would be too weak.
On the Lanes
The 900 Global Wolverine Dark Moss is ideal for medium oil conditions and especially effective once the lanes have broken down (transition). Its strength lies in its ability to get through the drier areas of the heads effortlessly and to generate an explosive move to the pocket at the end of the pattern (skid-flip). It's the perfect choice when stronger balls such as the Reality or Zen start hooking too early and lose energy. The Wolverine Dark Moss lets you open up the angles wide and play deep from inside out. Thanks to the quick response of the core, it stands up fast and generates excellent carry by keeping the pins low. On very fresh or longer oil, however, it may react too sensitively (over/under), which is why it should primarily be a ball for later games (game 2 or 3) in the bag.
