BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The Storm !Q Tour Dark Green, released in September 2022 as an international release (OEM), continues the tradition of the legendary !Q series with a new visual variant. The ball comes in a rich, dark green that strongly recalls the popular !Q Tour Emerald. Technically, Storm relies on the proven combination that made this series so successful: inside is the symmetrical C3 Centripetal Control Core. With a low 2.49 RG and a low 0.029 differential (at 15 lbs), this core is designed to read the lane in an extremely controlled way and to avoid overreaction. It is wrapped in the R2S Pearl Reactive coverstock, finished out of the box with a 1500-grit polish. This mix of a very controlled, low-flaring core and a clean pearl surface promises a ball reaction that glides effortlessly through the heads and makes a predictable, arcing move at the breakpoint instead of snapping off explosively.
Comparison
Compared directly to the absolute classic, the Storm !Q Tour Edition (solid, dark blue), the Dark Green offers noticeably more length. While the solid reads the lane early and smooths out the edges of the oil pattern, the Dark Green uses its pearl surface to store energy and only responds once it reaches friction. It is essentially the perfect complement when the solid rolls out too early. Compared to the Storm Hy-Road, which also uses R2S, the !Q Tour Dark Green is even more controlled. The Hy-Road has a higher differential and therefore turns the corner more aggressively, while the !Q Tour Dark Green runs "straighter" through the pins thanks to its low differential and is less prone to over/under reactions. Next to a ball like the 900 Global Zen, which has a huge symmetrical core, the !Q Tour Dark Green feels considerably tamer and is the better choice when the Zen jumps off the spot too hard.
On the Lanes
The Storm !Q Tour Dark Green is a master of control on medium to drier lane conditions. It is not built to hook in heavy oil; it shines when the heads have already dried up somewhat or the lane gets spotty. Its strength is the transition: when stronger balls get too jumpy or burn up their energy too early, the Dark Green lets you hold your line without having to move the breakpoint far outside. It is ideal if you like to keep the ball "in front of you" and play the pocket with moderate angles. The low flare also makes it excellent for securing carry on broken-down patterns, since it stays very stable at the pin deck and doesn't waste energy through excessive rotation.
