BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
Released in May 2023 (primarily as an international "Overseas" release), the Roto Grip Attention M is a visual and technical highlight. The ball immediately stands out with its striking magenta and black color scheme (solid/pearl blend). Inside works the characteristic Momentous Core, an asymmetric weight block exclusive to the Attention series. With a 2.48 RG and a 0.050 differential (at 15 lbs), this core provides quick revving and strong flare. The decisive difference from earlier models is the cover: the Attention M uses the high-performance MicroTrax Hybrid Reactive coverstock. Combined with a grabby 2000-grit Abralon finish, this ball is designed to unite an aggressive midlane read with a still powerful continuation on the backend.
Comparison
Within the Roto Grip family, the Attention M fills an important niche. Compared to the Roto Grip Gem (solid), which digs in extremely early and sometimes loses energy for the backend, the Attention M gets through the heads somewhat cleaner thanks to its hybrid cover, yet still offers more total hook than a Roto Grip RST X-3. The character of the Momentous core differs noticeably from that of the Reality core (900Global): while the Reality often has a very heavy, rolling motion, the Attention M feels somewhat more dynamic and quicker in rotation. It is comparable to a Storm Proton PhysiX, but the hybrid component often makes it more versatile and not quite as locked in on heavy oil alone.
On the Lanes
The Roto Grip Attention M is an absolute powerhouse for medium to heavy oil. Since it is an Overseas release, it was developed specifically to work on a variety of lane conditions, but it is mostly used as the "first ball out of the bag" on fresh oil. The MicroTrax Hybrid cover allows the ball to ignore the oil in the front part of the lane while slowing down massively in the midlane so it doesn't miss the breakpoint. It's ideal if you want the security of an asymmetric solid (no sliding in the oil) but need a ball that still creates enough angle on the backend to kick out the corner pins. It smooths out wet/dry conditions very well, since it neither skids away up front nor overreacts down the lane.
