BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
Released in June 2023, the Radical Crypto Boom brings the revolutionary HK22 technology (HyperKinetic22) to the established Crypto line. Visually, the ball stands out immediately with its dynamic green, silver, and purple color scheme. Technically, it pairs the symmetrical Crypto core with the new chemical base technology. With a 2.481 RG and a 0.046 differential (at 15 lbs), the core delivers strong benchmark numbers that provide an early revving action and good continuation. The HK22 surface, finished with 500/1000/1500 Siaair and Crown Factory Compound, changes the character drastically compared to its predecessor: the ball glides extremely cleanly through the heads and responds noticeably faster and more aggressively to friction at the end of the oil pattern than conventional materials.
Comparison
Compared directly to the original Radical Crypto (solid), which was known for its extremely round, almost arcing motion, the Crypto Boom is a completely different creature. It goes considerably longer down the lane and creates a much sharper angle at the breakpoint. You could say it is the perfect complement: when the solid rolls too early, the Boom takes over. Using the Storm Phaze V as a reference for shiny symmetrical balls, the Crypto Boom often shows an even quicker response time to dry boards thanks to the HK22 cover, which makes it feel more explosive off the end of the pattern. Against the Radical Bigfoot Hybrid, which also uses HK22, the Crypto Boom reads the lane slightly earlier due to its lower RG value (2.48 vs. 2.46 is similar, but the shape differs) and feels more stable in the midlane before it sets the kick.
On the Lanes
The Radical Crypto Boom is predestined for medium oil conditions and especially for the transition phase when the lanes start to break down. It is an excellent step-down ball from stronger solids. As soon as the front boards dry up and you are forced to move left and open up the angle, the Boom shows its strengths. The HK22 technology ensures that the ball stores enough energy even on longer paths through the oil to go through the pins explosively at the end (carry). It avoids the problem many symmetrical pearls have of arriving "flat" at steep angles, offering instead a penetrating finishing motion.
