BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The Storm Savage Lock is a high-performance release from fall 2026 that advances the technology of the renowned Lock series. At the heart of this asymmetrical bowling ball is the RAD-X A.I. Core, which combines the familiar shape of the original RAD-X core with Storm's advanced outer core technology. This core is wrapped in the proven TX-16 Solid Reactive cover, which comes from the factory with a Power Edge finish. This combination is designed to provide excellent transfer of rotational energy, keeping the ball stable in the midlane while acting extremely responsive at the backend. The technical parameters and the asymmetrical design guarantee pronounced dynamics and a high flare potential. Visually, the ball presents a striking appearance, underlining its capabilities on the lane.
Comparative Analysis In a direct comparison with the Storm Phaze II, which also utilizes the popular TX-16 Solid Reactive cover, the Savage Lock displays significantly more asymmetry and a sharper change of direction at the backend due to its asymmetrical RAD-X A.I. Core. While the Phaze II is known for its extremely smooth and controllable benchmark reaction, the Savage Lock generates more torque and a sharper angle to the pin deck. Compared to the original Storm Lock, which featured the GI-15 Hybrid cover and the classic RAD-X core, the Savage Lock offers an optimized energy transfer and further improved Carry thanks to the evolved core technology. The ball reads the Front slightly earlier through the solid cover but retains enough energy to powerfully master the Transition thanks to the special finish.
Practical Application The Storm Savage Lock primarily unfolds its potential on lane conditions with medium to heavy oil volumes. Thanks to the grippy TX-16 cover combined with the Power Edge finish, the ball finds sufficient Friction in the early part of the lane even with heavier oil, without losing energy too early. Bowler types who play deep lines across the boards and rely on a pronounced Hook at the breakpoint benefit enormously from the strong asymmetry of the core. The optimized core design is also intended to ensure that the ball hits the pocket with maximum impact, thereby maximizing Carry. As the lanes dry out during play and the Transition sets in, the predictable nature of the solid cover allows for minor adjustments to the playing position, although a ball change is recommended in very dry conditions.
