Technically speaking, the ball is very simple, but built in an extremely effective and purposeful way. At its center works a traditional, symmetrical pancake core. This classic core shape is characterized by a very high RG and an extremely low differential. This specific combination aims to keep the ball's own dynamics and flare potential as low as possible. The coverstock is pure, hard polyester. The surface comes polished to a high shine with a High Polish finish out of the box, which gives the ball an extremely smooth and durable texture. Thanks to this mirror-smooth surface and the completely non-reactive cover, friction on the lane surface is reduced to an absolute minimum. Visually it usually appears in lively, multi-colored swirl designs that give good feedback about the release as the ball rotates across the boards. The entire design is strictly built so that the ball stoically holds its line without being influenced by the prevailing oil pattern.
Comparison In a direct comparison on the lane, the Pyramid Path behaves extremely similarly to other industry standards in this category, for example the Brunswick T-Zone or the Storm Ice. All of these models rely on a hard polyester cover and a simple pancake core, which makes the ball motion nearly identical. While a reactive entry-level ball like the Storm Tropical Surge builds friction relatively early and develops a clear hook toward the pocket at the breakpoint, the Pyramid Path remains completely unimpressed by dry or heavily oiled zones. The ball skids absolutely effortlessly through the heads and shows no notable transition even at the end of the oil pattern when the lane dries up. Compared to the Brunswick T-Zone or the Columbia 300 White Dot, there are no measurable advantages or disadvantages on the lane in terms of playability. The decision between these balls usually comes down purely to visual preference or price. If you're looking for a ball that produces an aggressive hook, you won't find it here, because the combination of core and cover was designed by the developers precisely to play exactly no arc at all, and instead to convert the applied energy purely into forward motion.
On the Lanes The ideal and most widespread use case for this ball is the classic spare game. For that reason, advanced players, tournament players and pros carry it in their arsenal almost exclusively as a pure spare ball. When it comes to reliably clearing single pins on the opposite side of the boards, the ball should guarantee a dead-straight path that takes the oil pattern completely out of play. Beginners and casual bowlers also benefit enormously from the model's predictable nature, since the ball doesn't overreact on extremely dry house lanes and is therefore very easy to control. Because real hook potential is almost entirely absent, you have to place the ball extremely precisely and with a lot of force on the first shot in order to get good carry in the pocket. That makes it only conditionally ideal as a first-ball option over the long run. On heavily played lanes with extremely little oil, however, it can serve experienced players as a tactical last resort when even very weak reactive balls react too early and too strongly to the transition. All in all, the Pyramid Path should deliver absolute straightness and maximum predictability, completely regardless of what the current lane conditions look like.
