First Impressions
The Seismic Solaris Requiem was designed as a powerful addition within the Solaris line, meant to show a dominant presence specifically on oily lanes. It relies on the proven Trailblazer core, a symmetrical design with a low radius of gyration (RG) of 2.48 and a moderate differential of 0.046. This core characteristic should deliver an early roll and a very even, controlled energy release. The core is wrapped in the AVC+ Reactive coverstock, a solid shell that comes from the factory with a matte finish (usually 1000 or 2000 Abralon). Visually, the ball impresses with a deep, dark design and striking logos that already signal its purpose for higher oil volume.
Comparison
Compared to the original Seismic Solaris or the Solaris Blackout, the Solaris Requiem offers considerably more traction in the heads and through the midlane thanks to its AVC+ surface. While the Solaris Blackout is laid out more for medium conditions and a cleaner motion through the front part of the lane, the Requiem digs into the oil earlier. Set against a modern benchmark ball like the Storm Phaze II, the Requiem shows a similarly strong midlane read, but tends toward an even more continuous, rounder motion at the breakpoint. Compared to a Storm Virtual Energy Blackout, which shows a very angular reaction to friction, the Solaris Requiem stays clearly more predictable and more stable through the transition, which makes it a reliable choice on difficult sport patterns.
On the Lanes
The ideal range of use for the Seismic Solaris Requiem is on heavy to medium oil conditions as well as on longer oil patterns where control over the entire length of the lane is required. It should ensure that the ball does not overshoot the target even with a lot of oil, but instead gets into a roll early enough to produce strong carry in the pocket. If you throw the ball fast or have fewer revs, it provides the support needed to read the lane effectively. On typical house shots (THS), however, the ball can lose energy too early when there is high friction, which is why it shines here mainly in the first game or with high oil volume. As soon as the transition sets in and the lanes dry up, you should switch to a model with a smoother surface or a weaker core to prevent the ball from rolling out prematurely.
