First Impressions
The Brunswick Beyond Infinity presents itself as a visually striking evolution within the manufacturer's high-performance line. The most notable feature is the use of the HK22 base (HyperKinetic22) in combination with the A.X.H. (Activator Xtreme Hook) Pearl coverstock. This material composition is characterized by a high degree of transparency, which makes the "Purple Ice / Ocean / Mint" color scheme look especially vivid. Technically, the ball is built around the asymmetric Infinity core. In the 15 lbs reference weight, it shows an RG of 2.521, a differential of 0.051 and an intermediate differential of 0.010. The surface is finished at the factory with a 500/1000/1500 Siaair sanding and then treated with Crown Factory Compound. This combination of polished surface, medium-strength asymmetric core and the reactive HK22 cover should deliver clean length through the heads and a dynamic reaction at the breakpoint.
Comparison
Compared directly to the original Brunswick Infinity (hybrid/solid characteristic), the Beyond Infinity generates noticeably more length and a sharper change of direction in the backend. While the predecessor was laid out more for control and an earlier roll point, the Beyond Infinity positions itself as the more aggressive option for later in the block. Looking at the market, the ball shows strong parallels to the "Eternity" from 900 Global, with both balls exhibiting a similar "skid-flip" characteristic. Compared to the "Attention Star" from Roto Grip, the Beyond Infinity often reacts a shade more controllably, yet still offers more backend motion than many symmetric pearl options. Within the Brunswick lineup, it fills the gap for situations in which balls like the "Mindset" start up too early, but weaker symmetric balls (such as the "Ethos") would not provide enough recovery.
On the Lanes
The ideal application for the Beyond Infinity is medium to heavy oil conditions, particularly once the transition sets in and the heads begin to dry up. Thanks to the Crown Factory Compound finish, the ball glides effortlessly through the first few feet, stores energy and releases it explosively on contact with friction. That makes it an excellent choice if you need to open up the angle to the pocket ("open up the lane") without risking carry problems. For strokers, the ball provides the support needed to generate enough hook even from a deeper line. Crankers or players with a high rev rate could use it as their primary choice as soon as the first, oilier phase of league play is over. It is less suited to extremely fresh, long oil patterns, where the polish could cause it to slide past the target ("over-skid").
