First Impressions
The Brunswick Crown Victory Pearl arrives on February 19, 2026 in Radiant Red and continues the successful Crown Victory line. Visually, the ball stands out with its deep, brilliant red coloring, which achieves a particularly clear translucence and color depth thanks to HK22 nanotechnology with microcellular phase separation. Inside works the proven symmetrical Tiered Hexagon core, already used in the Brunswick Endeavor (2024) and in the original Crown Victory (2025). The core numbers come in at a medium to high RG of 2.540 (15 lbs) and a medium differential of 0.045 (15 lbs), which sets the ball up for a longer skid phase through the heads with stored energy for the backend. Unlike the original Crown Victory, which carried a Savvy Hook Hybrid coverstock, the Pearl version uses a Savvy Hook Pearl Reactive coverstock on the HK22 base. The surface comes out of the box sanded with 500, 1000, 1500 Siaair and polished with Factory Compound. Brunswick classifies the ball in the "Advanced" category with a "Flip" motion characteristic and a Reaction Shape Strength of 81 (on a scale of 1 to 100), placing it two points above the original Crown Victory (79). DynamiCore technology is also built in, which through a more durable outer core material produces less compression at impact and should therefore deliver more hitting power and better carry. The ball is available in 12 through 16 lbs and ships with a two-year warranty from date of purchase.
Comparison
Within the Brunswick lineup, the Crown Victory Pearl positions itself as the cleaner, more reactive version of the original Crown Victory. While the original was designed as a hybrid coverstock — which many bowlers mistakenly took for a pearl because of the shiny surface — the Crown Victory Pearl is now genuinely a pearl reactive formulation. Both balls share the Tiered Hexagon core and the HK22 base, but they differ clearly in cover formulation: the original Crown Victory used Savvy Hook Hybrid, while the Pearl version goes with Savvy Hook Pearl. Early impressions from the lanes suggest that the Crown Victory Pearl could turn out noticeably stronger in overall motion than the marketing implies. Rather than simply being a cleaner and sharper complement to the original, the ball appears to develop a considerably more aggressive backend reaction while also picking up friction earlier. In this context, parallels are drawn to the Hammer Black Widow Mania (Gas Mask core, HK22-Cohesion Pearl coverstock), which operates in a similar strength class — though with an asymmetrical core and a higher differential of 0.058. The Track Theorem is also mentioned as a comparable ball. Within the Tiered Hexagon core family, the Crown Victory Pearl is the third iteration: after the Brunswick Endeavor (2024) with Activator Plus 3.0 Pearl coverstock and the Crown Victory (2025) with Savvy Hook Hybrid coverstock, the Pearl version now offers the most reactive combination. The Brunswick Crown 78U, also with the Tiered Hexagon core, forms the other end of the spectrum with its urethane cover. On the Lanes
The Crown Victory Pearl is designed as a classic skid-flip ball: it should glide effortlessly through the heads and make a marked change of direction when it reaches the dry areas. That characteristic makes it particularly well suited to situations where open angles are called for and the ball needs room to work. On medium to lighter oil patterns as well as on house shots in later stages of a session — typically from game two or three on, once some transition has taken place — the ball should be able to play to its strengths fully. If you have at least medium ball speed, you should be able to control the Crown Victory Pearl well, regardless of rev rate. At lower speed, however, the pronounced response to friction could be hard to tame, since the ball apparently reads dry parts of the lane very decisively and barely lets up there. A key feature is the consistency of the ball motion: the Crown Victory Pearl should behave predictably and repeatably, which should build confidence in the ball. The ball does not need active help from the bowler on the backend — on the contrary, it seems to work best when you release it cleanly and let it work. For fine-tuning, surface adjustments are an option: a light scuff with roughly a 3000 pad could round off the backend reaction somewhat and make the ball more versatile, while the box surface delivers the maximum skid-flip motion. As an arsenal piece, the Crown Victory Pearl works especially well as a transition ball or as an option for opening up angles in later stages of a session. One possible Brunswick arsenal setup could include the Zero Mercy Solid for heavy oil, the Crown Victory Pearl for medium conditions, and the Danger Zone or Danger Zone Purple Ice for lighter conditions. The Crown Victory Pearl is aimed at advanced bowlers looking for a dependable, dynamic ball with a pronounced flip characteristic, and who are willing to give it the angles and speed it needs to reach its full potential.
