BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The Swag Black Dragon Pearl was released in September 2025 as the shiny addition to the Superior Performance line. Visually, the ball comes in a striking black and red that gains a classy look from a polished 1500-grit finish. Inside works the Dragon Asymmetric Core, an asymmetric core tuned specifically for a balanced relationship between power and predictability. The specs for the 15-pound model include a 2.48 RG, a 0.054 differential and a 0.018 mass bias. This core is wrapped in the Scorch Pearl Reactive cover, the pearl version of the Scorch formula, which is known for its versatility. This combination should allow a clean skid phase through the heads while still delivering a strong backend reaction.
Comparison In analysis, the Swag Black Dragon Pearl shows a noticeably more angular move at the breakpoint than its predecessor, the Swag Black Dragon Solid. While the solid version reads earlier in the midlane and describes a rounder, more arcing motion, the pearl version offers more length and a sharper change of direction. Compared to a Storm Phaze II, the Swag Black Dragon Pearl shows a more aggressive reaction at the end of the oil pattern thanks to its asymmetric core, whereas the Storm Phaze II is valued more for its smooth, controlled roll phase. Compared with the Hammer Black Widow 3.0, the Swag Black Dragon Pearl offers an overall dynamic that starts up less early and saves more energy for the backend. In contrast to the Roto Grip RST Hyperdrive Pearl, the Black Dragon Pearl behaves somewhat more stably in the midlane, which should make it less prone to unpredictable jumps when friction conditions change.
On the Lanes The Swag Black Dragon Pearl is designed primarily for medium to heavy oil conditions, but it plays to its strengths especially once the lanes start to break down. It serves as an ideal follow-up ball when an aggressive solid reacts too early or loses energy. If you're speed-dominant, you'll benefit from the ball's ability to create a consistent backend motion despite high speed, while rev-dominant players will appreciate the control of the Dragon core, which should prevent an overly extreme move at the breakpoint. The core design, whose shape recalls symmetric cores but which has the hitting power of a big asymmetric model, should deliver excellent carry. The ball is very well suited for league play or tournaments as soon as you're forced to play deeper angles and get through the heads with ease.
