BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The ProBowl Undercover Pearl was released in August 2023 as a performance ball in the entry-level segment. The model comes in various color combinations, such as Red/White/Blue or Emerald/Black/Silver, and features a high-gloss finish polished to 1500 grit out of the box. Technically, the ball is based on the Ghost Trail Reactive coverstock, a reactive cover developed specifically for the transition from polyester to reactive balls. Inside sits the symmetrical The Source core. The specs for the 15-pound model list an RG value of .58 and a differential of .024. This combination points to controlled flare potential and a moderately smooth ball motion, while the cover is designed to glide cleanly through the heads.
Comparison Compared to high-end balls like the Storm Phaze II, the ProBowl Undercover Pearl shows a noticeably lower overall reaction and a later start to its move. Where a Storm Phaze II already starts working hard in the midlane, the Undercover Pearl is optimized to stay under the radar and save its energy for the backend. Within its class, it is comparable to the Brunswick Twist or the Columbia 300 Beast. Against a pure polyester ball like the Columbia 300 White Dot, however, the Undercover Pearl offers considerably more friction and a noticeable change of direction as soon as it reaches the end of the oil pattern. It thus closes the gap between the extremely straight spare balls and the aggressive performance models by allowing a controlled, more angular backend motion without overwhelming the bowler with too much hook.
On the Lanes The ideal range of use for the ProBowl Undercover Pearl is on lanes with light to medium oil volume as well as on typical house shots. It should let you get through the heads and the midlane effortlessly, even once the oil pattern has already broken down through transition. For beginners, it is the perfect first piece of equipment for learning the game with rotation, since it shows a predictable and consistent reaction. More advanced bowlers often use this ball as an option for very dry conditions, or when the backend calls for a precise, pinpoint motion to optimize carry. The defining trait of this ball is its unobtrusive way of moving through the front part of the lane and then striking into the pocket with precision. It provides stable energy transfer to the pins while remaining easy to control for different player types.
