BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The 900 Global Mach Cruise, released in July 2025 as an overseas release, adds an interesting solid variant to the popular Cruise series. Visually, the ball comes across as rather plain and industrial in a shade of gray, which underscores its character as a technical precision tool. Inside works the Ellipticon A.I. Core, an asymmetric core optimized by the A.I. outer shell (Amplified Inertia). With a 2.48 RG and a high 0.056 differential (at 15 lbs), plus a strong 0.030 intermediate differential, this engine is built for torque. The special feature is the surface: the Reserve Blend 93 (RB93) Solid Reactive coverstock ships from the factory with the Power Edge finish. That means this is a polished solid ball. This combination promises that the ball glides cleanly through the heads despite the chemically tacky cover and does not lose energy too early before it reacts powerfully at the breakpoint.
Comparison
Compared to its direct predecessor, the 900 Global Cruise GPT, which came with a pearl cover, the Mach Cruise reads the lane somewhat earlier and looks rounder overall in its motion. Where the Cruise GPT often shows a very sharp skid/flip reaction at the end of the oil pattern, the Mach Cruise offers more control through the midlane thanks to its solid base, without braking as early as a sanded solid (for example a 900 Global Eternity Pi). Its motion characteristics recall a Storm Absolute Power, but the asymmetric Ellipticon core gives it noticeably higher flare potential and a stronger change of direction than the symmetric Absolute. In performance terms it sits right between the big "snowplow" balls for heavy oil and the fast pearls for dry lanes.
On the Lanes
The Mach Cruise is the ideal benchmark ball if you start out on medium to heavy oil patterns but don't want to reach for a dull monster right away. Thanks to the Power Edge finish it shrugs off the friction in the heads, which makes it especially valuable when the front part of the lane has already been played in a bit but you still need plenty of kick off the backend. It's perfect for league bowlers looking for a ball that forgives mistakes in speed: it doesn't simply slide through when you throw it too fast (thanks to the solid chemistry), but it also doesn't burn up immediately when you're a little slower (thanks to the polish). An excellent bridge ball when the strongest ball in the bag hooks too early but a straight pearl still reacts too touchy.
