The Motiv Max Thrill line represents a technical evolution in the light-oil segment, combining proven core technology with updated coverstock formulas. The series consists of the Max Thrill Solid (2024), Max Thrill Pearl (2024) and Max Thrill Hybrid (2025), all of which are built on the Halogen V2 core. In a 15-pound ball, this symmetrical core carries an RG of 2.55 and a differential of 0.037, which should support a controlled and predictable energy release. The cosmetics vary significantly from model to model: the Solid comes in a bold Polar Blue, the Pearl in a Violet/Turquoise combination and the Hybrid in a Black/Grape mix. Technically, all three models rely on the Turmoil XP (Xtreme Power) cover technology. The Solid version ships with a 4000 grit LSS finish out of the box, while the Pearl and Hybrid models feature a 5500 grit LSP finish. These specifications point to a line specifically designed to offer more hook potential than the original Thrill series without sacrificing the length needed on drier lanes. The coverstocks are laid out to show a more moderate response to friction, which could make control easier through the transition phase.

The Pearl version, by contrast, is built for scenarios that demand maximum length through the heads and a more direct response to friction at the end of the lane. The Hybrid could prove to be the most versatile option, since it offers enough traction for light oil while still storing the energy needed to drive into the pocket. When the outside boards get very dry, the Max Thrill allows a line that requires less extreme side rotation angles. The interplay of the Halogen V2 core and the Turmoil XP surface should ensure that the ball stays stable despite the late reaction and does not shoot through the breakpoint uncontrolled.
