BOWLING BALL INFOS

First Impressions
The Storm !Q Super G was introduced in August 2024 as an international release and adds another pearl variant to the legendary !Q Tour series. The available color options in Purple and Black (Midnight) give the ball an elegant, understated look, while the signature coconut scent adds a special touch. Inside works the proven C3 Centripetal Control core, which has made the !Q Tour line the industry standard for predictable benchmark reaction for years. The specs show a 2.49 RG (15 lbs) and 2.54 (14 lbs), a moderate differential of 0.029 (15 lbs) and 0.034 (14 lbs), and a flare potential of 3 to 4 inches. These numbers point to a controlled, symmetrical ball with moderate hook potential. The cover is R2S DEEP Pearl Reactive, a further developed version of the legendary R2S formulation. The factory finish of 1500 grit polished positions the ball as a clean, responsive option for medium oil conditions with an emphasis on backend performance.
Comparison
The !Q Super G joins Storm's extensive !Q Tour family, which over the years has produced numerous variants such as the !Q Tour (R2S Solid), !Q Tour Pearl, !Q Tour Ruby and !Q Tour A.I. Compared to the !Q Tour Ruby, which is also positioned as a pearl option with R2S Pearl and a Reacta Gloss finish, the !Q Super G brings a more modern coverstock technology with the R2S DEEP Pearl formulation. R2S DEEP Pearl was developed to navigate the front part of the lane with ease while conserving energy for an aggressive, hard-driving move to the pocket. Compared to the original !Q Tour with R2S Solid, the !Q Super G should offer noticeably more length with a stronger backend, while the lower differential of the C3 core provides the characteristic control and the smooth pin action that define the !Q series. According to Storm, the R2S DEEP Pearl technology promises the highest coefficient of dry lane friction of any Storm coverstock, which should allow the ball to glide effortlessly through the heads before returning to the pocket with full carry power. Within the Storm Master Line portfolio, the !Q Super G sits at a medium to higher performance level for bowlers who value the reliability and predictability of the !Q series but need more backend response than the solid versions.
On the Lanes
The !Q Super G was designed for medium oil conditions with a focus on players who need a reliable, controlled reaction with a strong backend. The combination of the proven C3 Centripetal Control core and the R2S DEEP Pearl surface should offer a unique balance between power and forgiveness that is hard to achieve in this form. The low differential of the C3 core produces an early roll and gives the bowler a sense of stability in a straight line, as is characteristic of the !Q series. The R2S-based cover with its DEEP formulation should provide strong travel through the heads, while friction is generated from the midlane through the backend – ideal for lane conditions with lower oil volume and for player types without high speed. The ball is particularly suited to center conditions and as an option for the second half of tournaments, when the lanes start to break down. The characteristically smooth pin action of the !Q series is retained, while the pearl formulation allows more room for different angles. For bowlers who know and appreciate the original !Q Tour, the !Q Super G offers the chance to get consistent early roll with the same layouts, but with a longer and more angular ball path as the lanes develop. The 1500 grit polished surface can be adjusted as needed – sanded for more control on heavier patterns or left as is for maximum length. As an overseas release, the !Q Super G is USBC approved for regular play, but possibly not approved for PBA competition. Its international availability makes it an attractive option for bowlers worldwide who want Storm premier performance at often lower prices than US releases, while enjoying the proven !Q Tour philosophy of control, forgiveness and reliability.
